Stuttgart in Bloom

Hello and happy weekend to you!  How are you doing?  I’ve been joking to Dave that my life feels like a movie or tv show where time passes and the person is sitting in one place (for me, the dining table that has become our makeshift work bench.. eek), as the sun rises and sets, rises and sets. Is it just me, or do the days (and months!) seem to be slipping by?  How is it already the end of May!

The only thing keeping the days feel like ‘Groundhog Day’ around here have been watching Stuttgart come into full bloom.  We’ve been so fortunate to have a plethora of sunshine this year and I’ve been trying to take full advantage of it with almost-daily walks.  I have never loved my home’s location more than during this pandemic: we are city center but have the most AMAZING park, the Karlshöhe (translates literally to Karl’s hill) essentially as our back yard.

Our Karlshöhe walks really have given me inspiration during the past two months, and there really is something so grounding about watching your world around you come into bloom.  We’ve watched the amazing Chestnut trees sprout, come into full bloom in mesmorizing shades of pink or white, and now act as big leafy green shade trees.  We’ve watched a pink tree blossom, and now it’s nice and green as well.  The forest side of the hill feels like a magical little wonderland and provides such a shady escape from the city.

I truly love it all!

Here’s some images of Stuttgart in bloom, as seen from the Karlshöhe.  Enjoy!
