My Favorite Charleston Restaurants

Charleston is no doubt a foodie heaven, which is one of the (many) reasons it takes the cake for my favorite city in the US… and tied with Paris as my favorite in the world. 😉  With absolutely delicious, local restaurants everywhere you turn, sunshine and salty breezes, pastel buildings and palm trees, a happening downtown and three distinct beach towns, Charleston really has my heart! If you didn’t know,  we lived in Charleston before moving to Stuttgart.  We recently spent a week back in the Holy City so I figured I’d round up my favorite restaurants for y’all.  There […]

Corpus Christi in Sevilla

|Locatio: Sevilla, Spain| Dave and I have traveled pretty extensively around Europe but I can honestly say I actually felt culture shock in Sevilla (that fact alone shocked me!)!  We happened to visit during Corpus Christi week, and it seemed the city was always on with celebrations, parades, and excitement. Every evening the week leading up to Corpus Christi on Thursday, multiple bands would play throughout the narrow city streets and the music echoed off the buildings making for some loud music.  This city celebrated with passion!  The streets were filled with people everywhere and we had fun exploring! The city […]

Plaza de España, Sevilla Spain

The Plaza de España!  If you’ve been, your eyes widen when someone mentions it.  It’s an expansive plaza built on the outskirts of downtown Sevilla in 1928 for the 1929 World Fair, with blue, white, and yellow tiles galore set against soaring Spanish towers.  The architecture is that beautiful mix of Roman and Moorish, or oriental, that makes up what we now think of Andalusian architecture. The plaza is surrounded by a moat, with four tiled bridges crossing it.  Rent a boat if you’d like to paddle your sweetheart around. Those tiles… I promise you won’t be able to get […]

Exploring the Colorful, Tasty Streets of Sevilla, Spain

Sevilla is a Spanish city bursting with life, culture, and passion.  It seems everything the Sevillanos do, they do with passion!  From flamenco dancing, to bull fights, to the chaos of eating tapas for lunch, to celebrating Corpus Christi with huge street parades in their Sunday best, Sevillanos do it all with passion and a big, friendly smile. Sevilla had been on our travel bucket list for a while and when we booked the big birthday trip to Ibiza with the fam, we were able to fly a quick hop from Ibiza to Sevilla.  It worked out perfectly and I highly […]

Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest

This post is quite late (hello Summer!!) but I wanted to tell you about the Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest since we had the BEST time with so many best friends visiting! The Frühlingsfest, or Spring Festival in English, runs for 3 straight weeks, mid April to mid May every year and it’s the sister event to the Volksfest in the fall.  We were so lucky to have a ton of friends visit us from the states this year, all during the fest season so we spent many weekends soaking up the German festival and sharing it with them! If you haven’t been […]

Exploring Ibiza Town

If you’re in the White Isle and need a break from the sun and beaches or the weather isn’t perfect, head on over to Ibiza town for a fun afternoon of exploring!  It is a picture perfect hilltop town with narrow, windy cobblestone roads, white houses with colorful shutters, and a castle on top. Crossover into the historic old town via drawbridge into the walled town. We spent our last afternoon exploring the narrow paths, popping in and out of cute boho shops, and admiring the colorful town.  Ibiza is covered in gorgeous fuschia flowers everywhere, making for even more pops of […]

Mercedes Cup Stuttgart

Sports fans in Stuttgart are very happy this week between the Mercedes Cup tennis tournament and the World Cup kickoff, there’s a lot to watch and a lot of excitement!  Last weekend we decided to check out the Mercedes Cup and made a ‘day-date’ out of it! The Mercedes Cup is an ATP World Tour tennis tournament on grass courts.  The tournament is sponsored by Mercedes and the winner of the tournament gets prize money and a new car!  We hadn’t been before and wanted to check it out since it’s local and the tournament brings some big names to Stuttgart […]

Ultimate Amsterdam Guide

Amsterdam is such a beautiful city, with the tree lined canals and gorgeous Dutch architecture.  It’s quite a different feeling than Venice, and is a much more lived-in city. I have a big birthday coming up and my whole family is flying in to help me celebrate! Paris and Amsterdam are the two big European flight hubs and my cousin is studying abroad in Amsterdam, so we had a fabulous few days exploring the city with my family (just missing my younger brother and his girlfriend who are finishing up exams but will arrive today)!   I’m so glad to have […]
