My Favorite Charleston Restaurants

Charleston is no doubt a foodie heaven, which is one of the (many) reasons it takes the cake for my favorite city in the US… and tied with Paris as my favorite in the world. 😉  With absolutely delicious, local restaurants everywhere you turn, sunshine and salty breezes, pastel buildings and palm trees, a happening downtown and three distinct beach towns, Charleston really has my heart! If you didn’t know,  we lived in Charleston before moving to Stuttgart.  We recently spent a week back in the Holy City so I figured I’d round up my favorite restaurants for y’all.  There […]

Paris Medieval Tapestries, Carousels, and Sunshine along the Seine

After a fun Friday in Paris, we started Saturday with a delicious breakfast at Dose Rue Mouffetard, complete with the best looking avo toast and a fresh salad for him, yogurt with granola and berries for her, and cappuccinos and fresh pressed juice du jour to share.  If you’re in the 5th, it is an all star breakfast cafe!! We then headed to the Cluny museum, or the Museum of Middle Ages and one of my personal favorites.  It is currently being renovated through 2020 (much more modern now – hopefully the medieval building will be incorporated back in after […]

Late Summer Getaway to Villefranche-Sur-Mer

We took a late summer getaway to our favorite spot in the French Riviera, Villefranche-Sur-Mer.  Just one town east from popular Nice, this small town has it all: a great pebble beach, azure waters, colorful pastel buildings lining the sea in front of rocky cliffs, fabulous food, and charm exuding from every corner.  When we had a few days off at the end of summer, there was only one place we knew we wanted to be: We discovered VSM last year, using Nice as a home base and each day I planned for us to explore a different town by train.  […]

Exploring Ibiza Town

If you’re in the White Isle and need a break from the sun and beaches or the weather isn’t perfect, head on over to Ibiza town for a fun afternoon of exploring!  It is a picture perfect hilltop town with narrow, windy cobblestone roads, white houses with colorful shutters, and a castle on top. Crossover into the historic old town via drawbridge into the walled town. We spent our last afternoon exploring the narrow paths, popping in and out of cute boho shops, and admiring the colorful town.  Ibiza is covered in gorgeous fuschia flowers everywhere, making for even more pops of […]

Ibiza Birthday Part Two: Beaches and Clubs

Ibiza Beaches After the birthday celebrations we had plenty of beach time in Ibiza.  Throughout the week we spent our days at our local beach Playa d’en Bossa in the south, another southern beach ses Salines, Cala Comte, my very favorite beach in the north-west, and Cala Benirrás in the north. While we still had sunshine, this year the weather at the end of May wasn’t perfect beach weather – the mornings were usually cloudy or overcast but it’d clear away by the afternoon.  I think typically late May and June is fine for the beach here, and the locals […]

Innsbruck, the Perfect Weekend Getaway

|Location: Innsbruck, Austria| Innsbruck is an amazing little town nestled in the Austrian Alps that has so much to offer, but often gets overlooked as a European destination.  I think it’s the perfect weekend getaway and should not be missed, no matter the season!  This Alpine town is so picturesque, you’ll be pinching yourself in disbelief!  What makes it unique to me is that it is a true city in the mountains. We visited in the spring which ended up being perfect.  Blue skies and sunshine warmed the colorful town juxtaposed against the snowy mountains on every side.  People were […]

Skiing the Portes du Soleil

|Location: Chatel, France| Skiing the Portes du Soleil is one of my favorite winter vacations living in Stuttgart.  The ski area is quite large with a lot of connecting villages.  You can even ski from France into Switzerland and back within the day which I think is pretty awesome.  The Savoy region is an easy five hour drive from Stuttgart (well… that’s assuming you don’t put the wrong hotel into Google maps and drive an extra 2 hours through snowy Alpine switchbacks fearing your death… then drive two hours backtracking through the snowy switchbacks.  Long story you’ll have to ask […]

What to Do in Marrakech, Part 2

Marrakech was one of my favorite places we’ve visisted and was bursting with hospitality, colors, and sights to see.  This post is a continuation of what to do in Marrakech, Part 1. Stay in Different Riads I highly recommend you stay in a few different riads when you visit Marrakech.  They become your mini paradise in the city and I wanted to make sure we could experience a few different styles.  There are so many gorgeous riads online, the hardest part will be choosing only a few to stay in!  We settled on Riad Yasmine and Riad Joharra, because I couldn’t […]
