After spending a few days in Canggu we headed inland to spend the rest of our time in Ubud, a lush jungle area full of gorgeous nature, yoga studios, and healthy restaurants. I was most excited about this part of the trip because that lush jungle life is something I hadn’t experienced before!
Our time in Ubud was packed full of amazing adventures, and first up was the gorgeous Campuhan Ridge Walk! The Shimha Jungle Retreat Airbnb (which was absolutely amazing) was our first hotel in Ubud and was very close to the ridge so we decided to hike it shortly after checking in.
The walk down the main road already had me thinking of Tarzan swinging across the vines…
There are two ways to access the Ridge and we chose to go the more adventurous route. Halfway through when I was shimmying across a handmade bamboo bridge I was second guessing our decision, but we made it in one piece!
Finally, we made it to the top of the ridge! It is so peaceful up there in the afternoon just before the sunlight turned golden. We wanted to make sure our hike back still had sunlight so we didn’t stay much longer, although I’m sure watching the sun set from the top of the ridge would be stunning.
The light in the mornings was gorgeous and it’s when I’d recommend going! Our airbnb was right next to the Ridge so Dave flew the drone again in the morning to get a nice little view.
I was blown away by our first Ubud experience. I couldn’t believe we were in this gorgeous place and was so excited to see what else this beautiful town has to offer! These drone shots are incredible so I’ll let them do the talking for this post.
PS, this is the drone we use in case you’re interested!
