A Very Happy Quarantine Birthday at Home

Hey friends!  Last weekend I turned 32 and had such a sweet day spending it at home with my husband.  It landed on Memorial day this year, and while we had a fun outing with friends wine walking through our local vineyards on Sunday, I wasn’t really expecting much for my actual birthday.  I mean, usually we celebrate it by spending a week in Mykonos – so the fact that we were “stuck at home” without availability to travel anywhere wasn’t getting me very excited.  But, spending it at home this year with Dave really was so sweet! I told […]

Stuttgart in Bloom

Hello and happy weekend to you!  How are you doing?  I’ve been joking to Dave that my life feels like a movie or tv show where time passes and the person is sitting in one place (for me, the dining table that has become our makeshift work bench.. eek), as the sun rises and sets, rises and sets. Is it just me, or do the days (and months!) seem to be slipping by?  How is it already the end of May! The only thing keeping the days feel like ‘Groundhog Day’ around here have been watching Stuttgart come into full […]

An Update from Stuttgart and the Coronavirus, Sunday March 29th

How’s everyone feeling?  Dave and I officially haven’t seen or been near anyone else for 17 days and counting, since David arrived home Friday morning the 13th (he was in the US since March 1 for work).  We both started teleworking that Friday and haven’t been into work since the 12th, similar to many of you. If you are an essential worker, I really do applaud you, it is not easy to go out every day and help keep us all afloat.  Thank you! Today I’m sharing updates on Stuttgart’s Coronavirus restrictions and what we’ve specifically been up to during […]

First Signs of Spring on the Stuttgart Karlshoehe

I’ve realized while I love living in a pretty city, I feel the most energized when I walk through green spaces.  You know I absolutely love running through the Scholssgarten and walking the Untertürkheim vineyards, but if I feel like staying closer to home the Karlshöhe is the perfect ‘city escape’ without ever leaving the city! This winter has been very mild and filled with so much sun that we’re already starting to see buds on some trees and pre-spring signs throughout the city.  Every morning we now wake up to birds chirping non-stop, it really is exciting to have […]

How to Spend an Authentic Day in Sevilla

Sevilla, Spain had some of the most intense culture I have ever come across!  I found that everything Sevillanos do, they do with an intense passion and it is so inspiring.  Sevilla is such a beautiful city with TONS to offer beyond the typical city blocks and fabulous tapas bars.  We had the best day filled with the royal gardens, some Game of Thrones scouting, horse and carriage rides, a bull fight (!) and ended with a flamenco show, a dance that originated in Sevilla.  Whew!  Are you ready? Spend Time in the Royal Alcazar and Gardens Simply put, the […]

My Favorite Charleston Restaurants

Charleston is no doubt a foodie heaven, which is one of the (many) reasons it takes the cake for my favorite city in the US… and tied with Paris as my favorite in the world. 😉  With absolutely delicious, local restaurants everywhere you turn, sunshine and salty breezes, pastel buildings and palm trees, a happening downtown and three distinct beach towns, Charleston really has my heart! If you didn’t know,  we lived in Charleston before moving to Stuttgart.  We recently spent a week back in the Holy City so I figured I’d round up my favorite restaurants for y’all.  There […]

Corpus Christi in Sevilla

|Locatio: Sevilla, Spain| Dave and I have traveled pretty extensively around Europe but I can honestly say I actually felt culture shock in Sevilla (that fact alone shocked me!)!  We happened to visit during Corpus Christi week, and it seemed the city was always on with celebrations, parades, and excitement. Every evening the week leading up to Corpus Christi on Thursday, multiple bands would play throughout the narrow city streets and the music echoed off the buildings making for some loud music.  This city celebrated with passion!  The streets were filled with people everywhere and we had fun exploring! The city […]
